There's far more than shoot time
There is a great deal to decide and organise before a shoot, and much more time spent selecting and perfecting images afterwards. Industry convention is to quote for time at the shoot itself, and our standard fee is £250 per photoshoot hour, which covers the substantial time before and after. The actual time up to delivery is a multiple of the shoot hours, much of it in post-production.
Agreeing key shots and coverage
Architectural or product shoots may involve a limited number of key images but very time-consuming editing. Corporate or social events can generate hundreds or thousands of RAW images that need review and selection but lighter enhancement on average. Some events need more than one photographer. Whatever the project, we find options to fit your budget with a clearly defined scope.
Enhancement and expert editing
We typically budget around three hours of editing for each hour on the shoot — pre-processing such as noise reduction, careful selection of the best images, then image-by-image cropping, straightening, removal of reflections and unwanted objects, and final sharpness, brightness and colour balance. We never book more shoot hours than we can properly process.
Delivery to your private gallery
Images are delivered in high-quality JPG, hosted for three months at a secure online gallery for viewing, download and sharing. If you prefer a physical item we can supply beautifully crafted USB drives at £30 per unit, and we can design and arrange printing of a physical album if required.
All inclusive, and insured
The photoshoot price reflects the cost of operating our service — keeping equipment up to date, serviced and insured, specialist editing software, hosting and other overheads — not a personal fee for your photographer.
